The origin and history of a band's formation can be quite fascinating. "The Groovy Rubies" began as a band named "The Inflatables". Our fun, shared history cast of characters started with our dear departed and beloved, Dean Najarian.
He brought keyboardist John Cangiano and guitarist Ron D'Attilio, friends from first grade and lifetime musical comrades.
Next to join, cousins Ted Abely on drums and Jeff Smith on bass. Enter guitarist/producer David Porter, another musical friend, bringing singer-songwriter Agona Hardison, his decades long musical collaborator, into the fold.
When Dean tragically passed, the band felt unsure of the future. Agona and David had been co-writing songs along the way. Understanding we could not be the band we were, we decided it was time to forge a new direction and make something from what we had started.

The Groovy Rubies appeared stronger, rebuilding our sound and identity. Through a concerted effort, we have successfully recorded a collection of original songs, entrenched in classic rock and country pop.

Enjoy the music! Thank You! TGR
